Virat Kohli And Anushka Sharma Request Paps To Refrain From Clicking Their Daughter’s Pictures: ‘We Want To Protect Privacy Of Our Child’
On Monday afternoon, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli welcomed their first child- a baby girl! The Indian cricketer took to his social media and shared a statement, breaking the news of the arrival of their child. He assured fans that both Anushka and the baby are healthy and requested for privacy. Now, the couple has made an appeal to the paparazzi in Mumbai, requesting them not to click their newborn daughter’s pictures as they wish to protect her privacy.

Times Of India reports that Virat and Anushka have sent out a note to the paparazzi fraternity in Mumbai, and it reads, “Hi, Thank you for all the love that you have given us for all these years. We are happy to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. As parents, we have a simple request to make to you. We want to protect the privacy of our child and we need your help and support." The statement further read, “While we will always ensure that you get all the content you need featuring us, we would request you to kindly not take or carry any content that has our child. We know that you will understand where we are coming from and we thank you for the same."

Earlier, a report in Bollywood Hungama mentioned that they have amped up security and even visitors in the next rooms aren’t allowed to take a glimpse of Anushka’s room. The report also stated that they aren’t accepting flowers or gifts in the hospital.

Even before the birth of their child, Anushka Sharma had said in an interview with Vogue that she and Virat had decided to keep their baby away from the media glare. Anushka said that she doesn’t plan on raising a child in the public eye. “We definitely do not want to raise a child in the public eye— we don’t plan on engaging our child in social media. I think it’s a decision your child should be able to take. No kid should be made to be more special than the other. It’s hard enough for adults to deal with it. It’s going to be difficult, but we intend to follow through,” she had said.
